Easter Weekend

Well last weekend was amazing. I got Friday and Monday off, so essentially I had a very restful 4-day weekend :)

I stayed up very late on Thursday watching The English Patient on tv, and on Friday we had fun playing board games at Steve's. Ivan beat us all at The Game of Life, as a $100 000 paid accountant. Then we played Bang a couple times and Citadels.

On Saturday afternoon I went to Alex's house out in the country. We did many fun things this weekend such as: played with/fed/milked the goats, rode on the 3-wheeler, explored abandoned farms and cars, played Jenga, played hours upon hours of Crokinole, biked to the sugar shack, and many other things. Oh, I also learned how to juggle!! (a bit) Alex's sister Christina got very good at it. I still have to juggle against a wall to be decent. I will hopefully add some nice photos later on of all these exciting activities in which I partook.

I was only supposed to stay one night, but driving late in the dark was not very appealing, so I accepted Alex's mom's offer to stay another night. Ah, also the first day there my allergies weren't too bad. I'm not sure if it was his cat or just seasonal allergies, but I sneezed quite a bit. The next day I surprisingly didn't sneeze at all, even though I took no medication. The amount of pets this family has is astounding. It's quite a change from my pet-free home. They have 5 dogs (two golder retrievers, 2 , and , 1 cat, MANY goats (kids and adults), 2 barn cats, 2 ducks, a bunch of duck eggs, and fish.

I'm excited about hopefully visiting this summer when the berries will be in season.
How did your Easter break go?

Easter is upon us! ... almost

Hey everyone!

It's been a little while since I last posted, so I thought I just add another new one here. I planned on making my site super cool with extra links and a photo album and such; but I've been busy/lazy lately.

Tomorrow is my last day of work for this week! woohoo! I'm so excited. I'm also giving blood tomorrow because the bloodmobile (what a name...) from Canadian Blood Services will be at CHEO. Then I have a wonderful 4-day weekend followed by a Tuesday cadaver testing. Wednesday can be used to finish up my co-op report. Thursday is research day in which I will probably get to sit in on many medical/biomechanic presentations concerning research projects that are currently being worked on. I'll get to see two people presenting who I've done work for (by 'work' I mean compressive testing as well as data analysis). So it'll be interesting to see how the data is being used and what effect it will have on the medical community. Finally Friday is my last day of work! My bosses are kindly going to take me out to lunch (not sure where yet).

Apart from that I'm very excited about all the happenings of these weekends to come! This weekend I'm having Easter dinner with family on Friday night. Then on Saturday I'm going to visit Alex, his family, and their many pets 'round Easton's Corners (I think it's called). I will have to practice very hard at bumper pool and crokinole so that I can beat Alex and Caley. I musn't forget to bring my allergy medication either, as I am allergic to cats, spring trees, and mold.

Then Amanda is having a wonerful BBQ the following weekend! I hope it's nice and sunny that Saturday! We'll have plenty of fun playing outdoor games. Oh, when the weather gets even warmer we should have a water balloon fight/water gun fight. :)

And finally, the month will culminate with the much anticipated, fabulous murder mystery game! Yayyy!! Next weekend I'll go to Value Village to find a couple things. My friend is also having her engagement party on the last Friday of April.

And finally school begins on the first of May. Caley's birthday will be coming up very shortly! Oh, what can we do for Mr. Griener? I say we fill his room up with scantily clad ladies. Or perhaps we can all pitch in to get him a John Deere tractor. ;)

Lovely dayadate

Seeing as how exams are coming up for most (I suppose not for the people in our little webring, though) I will update my blog since others probably do not have the time to do so.

---I realize now that that first phrase was quite unnecessary since only Krystel has exams (out of the people that likely read this blog), and might even still update her blog---

This weekend was very very fun! It started off with Alex coming in from the outskirts and eating a wonderful dinner with me that I had prepared from scratch that I like to call Ambergeur Elpeur ;) Then we headed off with Caley to Maryam's birthday party at one of the Lees apartments. But I pulled an Amanda, and forgot Maryam's Malibu gift in the apartment. Since we had just crossed Laurier, I ran back up to get it but forgot that I had juice there as well. Oh well.

Many people were at Maryam's party. Now, as I am typing this, I am wondering why I am giving such details because (again) the only people that read this are the ones that were there. Anywho, it was a fun, interesting, and exciting night-- to say the least. There was some definite making out, vomiting, and making a fool of one's self. Some exhibitionism was also at play. All in all it wasn't an ordinary night. We ended up going to Space and having a marvelous time, right Caley? Dancing is lots of fun!

Then, on Saturday Alex and I had our (pronounced 'hour' not 'are') dayadate! The morning started off with trip to Rideau Centre to pick up some swimming goggles. Then we headed off to the UofO pool. Swimming was fun. Alex jumped off the first and second tower while I watched, from a safe distance. After swimming Alex went to get a haircut. Afterwards we proceeded to South Keys where we saw 'Failure to Launch.' That's right ladies, Alex came with me to see a chick flick. :) It was a pretty good movie, though some portions were obviously far-fetched and the ending was well, beyond cheesy. From there we ate dinner and saw a comedy show at Yuk Yuk's. It was really funny! We should definitely go sometime with everyone, especially on a Thursday because it's a 2 for 1 student night. I think this was the most amount of activities Alex and I have ever jam-packed into one day. :)

Oh, wow! I almost forgot the most exciting part:
When Alex dropped me off at home, he lowered the rear window on the driver's side of the car and it got jammed there (yep, just like in the van but this time it was the Grand Am). We very creatively covered the exposed hole with a garbage bag and duct tape. I'm hoping Alex took a picture so that I can share a visual with you all.

On Sunday my daddy and I went to go see the Greece IMAX movie at the Museum of Civilization. It was really well done. Nia Vardalos narrated it (writer/actress from My Big Fat Greek Wedding). I would really like to see the Kilimanjaro IMAX movie too. Along with this, I'd love to visit the museum. I haven't been there in so long. Because I still have the mindset of a child, I would have so much fun there! We could get dressed up in costumes and everything! :D
...Hopefully we can do that sometime later.

Only 2 weeks of work left! Yay!!

Ripped pants

If you haven't noticed yet, I'm very good at babbling about nothing:

Today wasn't so eventful. I think only really exciting and funny things happen on weekends, when I'm around more *animated* people. I went to work from 9-11 during which time I cleaned all the cadaver-infected stuff. Then, I went to school to review for our design II bell ringing exam. Afterwards, I tried registering for my courses, but Registration Navigator has some serious problems. I went to the new undergrad office and hopefully they'll straighten things out shortly. Here are a few things that RN was having problems with:

1) RN says I’m in a different program (the new biomed mech program)
2) I cannot register for courses within the program I am said to be in
(in #1)
3) I cannot register for most regular mech courses

4) I am apparently missing many credits for courses which I have
actually taken
5) Some courses are offered twice: 4cr or 3 cr. What does this
mean?!?!

Tonight some exciting plans for a murder mystery dinner came about. I really hope it goes through. I'm excited about getting all dressed up. I hope you don't have to be a good actor to play, though-- because I'm not very good at it, as you can probably tell from my roles in Bang and Werewolf.

Anyhow, I have not yet studied for my bell ringing tonight, so I should be going. I will leave you with a couple of photos. One shows the crotch of my pants, which has been ripped (just because my pants are worn out; they're quite old). To prove how old they are, I have added another image of a pant cuff which was torn but has been sewn up very nicely by my mother. I am saddened by this 'event.' These are my favourite pyjama pants.

I realize now that I am far too lazy to post all my old blogs, so refer to the url above if you would like some light reading. Please note that you may only view this website if you are on my msn list.

Have a nice day!

Who remembers Fruit Roll-Ups?

Well yesterday I went to the grocery store and bought many must-need items. One of my purchases, however, was not. I splurged on what ladies and gentlemen? Yes, on fruit roll-ups. I got the strawberry & kiwi flavoured ones. They're so good. I had forgotten how much I love them. I love them above fruit by the foot, gushers, even dunkaroos.

During my little outing yesterday I also bought 'The Constant Gardener' from Rogers Video. I have yet to see it, though. I heard from a couple of sources that it's a good movie.

Today we did the cadaver test. All went well until the scapula (bone of shoulder blade) snapped. I screamed. I also got cadaver juice on my face. It was disgusting. Henceforth, I purelled my face.

Time to post my old blogs from msn!

cutie mcsnugglekins

Wow!! I finally got a blog, folks! That's right. I have switched over to the nerd side. *cough* cough* oops. I mean the cool side.

Because of the blog web we have going on, I figured I might as well start up my own. I actually started one up on msn messenger. I suppose I could move all my old posts here. I will, in due time. That way you can all enjoy some light reading whilst 'working.' I think I may like this set up better than msn messenger, as well. Oh, the onl
y thing is that internet freaks would stumble upon my site and see pictures of me. Hmm... I think I will take the risk since most of you have, already.

Tomorrow is cadaver testing day. I will be in a lab coat and gloves. Cadaver shoulders are wet and gross. They smell bad. But the testing takes all day and the extent of my work is clicking a button, so it's not so bad. Last time we had a cadaver I took a super long shower and purelled my whole body. That's right. I did this in addition to soaping 2-3 times. As you
can imagine (or perhaps not) I did not want to leave any cadaver residue on myself.

After work I will probably go to the last impromptu swing lesson. We will learn how to dance in a cool circle. The deal is that a bunch of partners dance together in a circle and one person calls out a move. The guys lead the girls into the move and, while still dancing, she switches partners. It's pretty cool.

10:40. Time to go dodo. byebye!
Oh! I almost forgot. To celebrate my first blog post, I will add a nice baby photo of myself.

Note: It took me nearly 30min to upload this photo, so I hope you really enjoy it. Something is up with my Internet Explorer. Firefox was much kinder to me.
